The Blues manager Enzo Maresca announced on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the team's important top-flight encounter against London opponents Arsenal.

Everton were unsuccessful in their appeal against Idrissa Gueye's dismissal for an on-field altercation with teammate Michael Keane during the squad's single-goal triumph at Old Trafford.

Gueye immediately apologized, and the pair were seen making up afterwards in a light-hearted online video.

However, the appeal against the dismissal was turned down, and Gueye must serve a three-match ban, leaving Everton short-staffed for their next fixture against Newcastle United.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” coach David Moyes said. “We received no rationale for the denial but we did appeal it.”

When asked about any further fallout from the event, Moyes remarked: “It ended right away, it was done, that was it, we progressed quite quickly and it was all sorted within the team environment.”
